On behalf of the executive committee of the Fairfield/Westchester chapter of the Society for Information Management, thank you for your participation in what we believe is the best professional networking forum for IT executives in the country. Our members are CIOs and other IT executives and together form one of the largest SIM chapters in the U.S. with over 230 members – 80% of which are IT practitioners. On a national scale, SIM connects 5,000 active members through 42+ regional chapters, which make it one of the largest and most active CIO professional networks.
Most of our members are familiar with and frequent participants in our monthly dinner meetings. Highlighted by dynamic speakers and tremendous networking opportunities, these dinners are easily our most popular events. Did you know, however, that SIM FW offerings go well beyond these monthly events? Our chapter has three mentoring circles – small groups that meet monthly to discuss career and professional development in a casual, social atmosphere. We offer college scholarship opportunities to members’ children. We participate in local STEM initiatives to support the growth and interest in related careers. We offer a Members in Transition program to assist members with their job search. We partner with HMG Strategy to deliver a full-day CIO Summit in October each year.
Membership in our chapter also provides access to programs and services available through SIM National. This includes programs like SIM Women, the Cyber-Security SIG, the Regional Leadership Program (leadership development), the Advanced Practices Council (research partnership with Universities) and the annual SIM Connect Live conference.
I’m proud to take over from Urs Foley the president role at SIM FW and thank her for her leadership over the last two years. Many in our chapter’s executive committee are taking on new responsibilities or have committed to continue to contribute. I want to thank each of them for their support and welcome our new EC members.
I’m so very pleased that many of you have committed to continue your own participation in SIM FW by renewing your membership and paying your dues. If you have not renewed yet, please do so now. SIM will extend your membership through March 31 in anticipation of your renewal but your membership will lapse after that date. Don’t lose the opportunity to take advantage of all the programs, social activities and learning that’s available through SIM.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact me at
firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll get you the answers you need.
To renew, go to www.fwsim.org and select “Renew My Membership” from the
<Our Chapter> menu.
