Come listen to an informal dialogue with Sigal Zarmi, hosted by Board member, Beverly Lieberman.  We will get candid answers to questions about her career, leadership and management style, 2016 priorities and what a typical day is like for her, leading technology for PWC, a Fortune 50 company and a leading professional services firm which spans 157 countries.

This is a unique program that offers insight and inspiration from the CIO of a highly successful firm.  Prior to PWC, Sigal was a CIO a very large business unit of GE Capital.    She will help us understand what it takes to thrive in these large and complex enterprises.  We will also learn how she manages work/life balance and even has time to be an active SIM Board member.

About the Speakers:

Sigal Zarmi is charged with transforming PwC into the leading technology-enabled professional services organisation. She is focused on driving innovation and enhancing digital capabilities across PwC’s network of firms, which spans 157 countries. Sigal serves as a member of the PwC Network Executive Team and chairs the Network IT Leadership Team, which is the global strategic, technology decision-making body for PwC.

Upon joining PwC in December 2014, Sigal developed and launched a comprehensive technology strategy that integrates emerging technologies such as data analytics and artificial intelligence with core platforms and solutions to drive efficiencies, evolve existing lines of business and expand into new markets. The strategy focuses on engagement management, practice operations, human capital systems, information and technology infrastructure.

Prior to joining PwC, Sigal was CIO for GE Capital, Americas, where she led technology efforts to drive business growth and enhance the customer experience for a $105B portfolio of commercial loans and leases. While in this role, she guided the business in effectively leveraging information technology in originations, risk management and operations, with a focus on simplification, productivity and compliance. She also spearheaded targeted analytics and mobile technology initiatives.

Sigal held numerous leadership roles with GE including CIO and Chief Quality Officer for GE Corporate Financial Services, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of GE Energy Financial Services, CIO for GE’s Financial Guarantee Insurance Company and CIO of GE Corporate Treasury. Prior to GE, she held leadership positions at two financial services firms and began her career as a programmer at Motorola.

Sigal holds an M.B.A. from Columbia University in New York City and a B.S. in engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa, Israel. She is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt. She is a frequent guest speaker and panelist at conferences, sharing her passion for how technological change impacts our work and personal lives, and the importance of leadership and diversity in the field of technology.

Active in her community, Sigal serves on the boards of Ability Beyond Disability and the Fairfield/Westchester chapter of the Society of Information Management.

 

Beverly Lieberman is President of Halbrecht Lieberman Associates, Inc., an internationally recognized executive search firm founded in 1957. The firm provides retained executive search services across multiple industries while specializing in Information Technology.

Beverly and her staff have successfully managed searches for Fortune 500 companies as well as early-stage businesses. Industries served include healthcare, insurance, higher education, financial services, managed service providers, retail, manufacturing, government, management consulting, high technology, law and communications.

Ms. Lieberman has a B.A. and M.A. from the University of Michigan and graduated from the prestigious MIT Sloan School Executive Management Program.  Prior to joining Halbrecht Associates, Ms. Lieberman was a Human Resource executive with a Fortune 500 multinational conglomerate and a leading New England bank, where she managed major recruitment efforts for professional and senior level technical staff.

Ms. Lieberman is a frequent speaker at professional societies and conferences and is often quoted in major business and trade publications. She has been a featured writer for CIO Magazine. Ms. Lieberman is a long-standing member of the Society for Information Management (SIM) and currently serves on the Board of Directors.
